What this covers
This policy explains what CAAAR ("we", "the app") collects when you use it, why, and how to have it deleted. Last updated 5 October 2026.
Information you give us
Account details — your email address and, if you add them, a display name and phone number.
Listings — the photos, videos, descriptions, prices and location details you post to sell a car, part or plate.
Messages — chats you send buyers or sellers through the app.
Auction activity — bids you place, your bid history, and any winning-lot payments.
Information collected automatically
A push-notification token, so the app can notify you about chats, bids and payments — only while notifications are enabled on your device.
Basic technical data needed to operate the service (e.g. timestamps on your listings, bids and messages).
Payments
Card payments — the refundable bidder deposit and a won auction's hammer price plus buyer's premium — are handled entirely by Stripe. CAAAR never receives or stores your card number; Stripe's own privacy policy governs that data.
AI features
If you use the AI ad-writing assistant, the details and any voice recording you provide for that listing are sent to Anthropic (maker of the Claude AI model) to generate the draft ad text. This is only sent when you actively use that feature.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that make the app work: Supabase (database, sign-in and file storage), Stripe (payments), Anthropic (the AI ad assistant, only when you use it), and the push-notification services built into iOS/Android.
Other users see what you'd expect from a marketplace: your listings, your display name and seller rating on ads you post, and messages you send them directly.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account (Settings or Menu → Delete account, or at caaar.net/delete-account), your profile, listings, photos, messages, bids and deposit records are permanently deleted. Records Stripe or the law requires us to keep for payment/tax purposes may be retained for longer, separately from your CAAAR account.
Your rights
You can review and edit your listings and profile at any time in the app, and delete your account and its data yourself from Settings or Menu → Delete account. For anything else — a copy of your data, a correction, or a question about this policy — email us and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
Children
CAAAR is not directed at children. Auctions and payments require an adult able to enter into a binding contract; we don't knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a material way, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app.
